I would actually give this sweater a 3 1/2 stars if I was able to, which is a shame because I really like the looks of it. When it arrived I could smell this chemical smell through the two plastic bags. When I got it out of the bags I had to hang it outside on my back porch because it was seriously that bad a smell. After two days it had dissipated enough that I could bring it back in, but hung it in our second bathroom for a few days before wearing. I had bought it because I had just had surgery on my neck and the stitches and glue are right where the seams of most shirts/sweaters are, and I needed something that looks nice and was oversized to hide it, without irritating it. This did exactly that, and it feels very nice, but the material looks like it's not going to hold up, there's already a small pin hole sized hole on the seam of the right shoulder. So it's a mixed review, and I'm keeping it - while still wondering what was done to it to make it smell like that. I know I'll hand wash it and air it dry!!
